JOSHUA's Immigration Task Force was officially formed in 2022 with the First-Generation Immigrants and Refugee Celebration Picnic at Bay Beach. This was held in June to celebrate and welcome those who immigrated to our community recently. Since then, we have partnered with local resource centers, RUTH-Manitowoc, and our WISDOM Statewide Immigration group to share Know Your Rights informational sessions and provide resources. The JOSHUA Spiritual Leaders have been very active in this area through their congregations and planning an interfaith prayer service in August of 2025.
As 2025 has begun, JOSHUA has further solidified its position an ally community organization to our immigrant and refugee populations. We aim to bridge the divide and welcome our neighbors, the strangers, and improve family life no matter the status. JOSHUA members play an important role at our local immigrant resource centers, responding as there are needs.
